Valwood hosted Valdosta and Community Christian (Fla.) for a three-team volleyball match at Eager Sports Center on Thursday.
Valwood swept Valdosta in the first best-of-three match. After earning a 25-15 win in the opening set, the Valiants withstood a Valdosta rally in the second set. The Wildcats came back from a 9-2 deficit behind strong serves from Adair Rodemaker and took the lead at 10-11. The match was tied 24 when the Valiants were able to put away a spike from junior Gracyn Sanderlin with a supreme back row attack from senior Erin Moss, giving the Valiants the victory.
Both Valdosta and Valwood were dominant in their remaining matches against Community Christian.
Valdosta defeated the Chargers in two matches (25-18, 25-6). Valwood ended the three-team meet with two victories (25-18, 25-6).
Valdosta plays against Lee County on Thursday. Valwood plays North Florida Christian (Fla.) on Monday.
