Valwood softball bounced back from its first loss of the season to down Crisp Academy 7-1 on Wednesday
Coming off their first loss of the season against Citizen Christian School on Tuesday, the Valiants ran their season record to 4-1 as starter Darcee Brown held the the Wildcats hitless through more than three innings, allowing only three hits in 16 at bats.
Ansley Bennett entered in relief in the fifth inning and proceeded to pitch three perfect innings to close the contest.
Valwood had no such trouble getting on base, tallying 12 hits in 30 at bats with two walks. Only two Valiants struck out.
Brown led the team as she was 3-of-4 at the plate with a double and two singles. Lindsey Browning went 2-of-3 with two singles, and Bennett finished 2-of-4 with a pair of singles.
Bri Fosdick, Emily Taylor, Mary Clare Martin, Ansley Haskard and Graceigh Booth each added hits, with Booth recording her second home run of the season.
The Valiants will play next at Georgia College State University in Milledgeville in contests against Harlem High School at 11 a.m. and Briarwood at 1 p.m.
Valwood returns home Tuesday when it hosts Westwood School.
