Valwood graduates John Michael McRae and Jaharie Boone played in the GISA All-Star baseball game at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus on Saturday.
McRae’s Blue Team defeated Boone’s Red Team 10-3. McRae batted 1 for 3, while Boone was 0 for 1 and walked twice.
The Valiant duo finished their respective high school careers as GISA All-State selections. McRae posted a .444 batting average in GISA Region 3-3A competition. Boone offered a .455 average in the postseason.
McRae was named a GISA All-Region player as a shortstop and Boone earned an All-Region accolade as an outfielder. First baseman Mason Williams, outfielder/first baseman Tayte Barry and outfielder Caleb Burns joined them on the All-Region list.
Boone signed a letter of intent with Reinhardt University to play baseball and football. McRae signed a baseball letter of intent with Truett McConnell.
