The Lowndes boys varsity golf team finished in first place in the Trojan Invitational held at River Pointe Golf Club in Albany on Monday.
Valwood’s boys varsity team took second place in the 17-team tournament hosting competitors from all regions of the state.
The Valiants carded a combined score of 322 strokes, three strokes behind the first-place Vikings, which carded a 319.
Lowndes was paced by Davis Carter, who shot a 75 at the Trojan Invitational. Teammate Cannon Heart finished with a 78.
Parker Highsmith led the Valwood with a solid 75, followed by Payne Elkins with a 76, Avi Patel with an 82, and Tyler Sweat with an 89.
Carter, Cannon, Highsmith and Payne Elkins were selected to the Trojan Invitational All-Tournament Team. The Vikings were also represented on the girls’ all-tournament team by Payton Elkins, who finished fourth in a field of 32.
Payton Elkins also finished first at a tournament in Coffee County two weeks ago with a score of 74.
