The Valwood baseball team committed nine errors in a 13-3 loss against Madison County (Fla.) at Browning Field on Wednesday night.
JM McRae had two of the Valiants’ five hits. Both of McRae’s hits were home runs and he finished with two RBIs and scored two runs.
The Cowboys went up 4-0 before McRae solo homered to left field. Valwood trailed 5-2 in the second when Jaharie Boone doubled on a pop fly, scoring Dane Fafard to bring the Valiants within 5-2.
McRae blasted another solo homer to left in the third inning, closing the gap to 5-3.
It was as close as Valwood would get.
Dylan Bass homered to left in the fourth to propel Madison County to a commanding 10-3 advantage.
Daquarius Thompkins had two hits and scored three runs for the Cowboys. Dilan Lawson had two hits, an RBI and scored a run.
Bass picked up the win in 4 innings for Madison County. He allowed five hits and three runs.
Drew Sawyer took the loss for Valwood, lasting 2/3 of an inning and surrendering two hits for four runs.
