What a great afternoon April 20th was for Valwood, as the school celebrated three special people who have affected the school in immeasurable ways!
The Vallye Blanton Middle School Commons area was named after Vallye Blanton in honor of her many years as a teacher and administrator at Valwood. As her plaque states, “her heart-felt spirit has inspired a generation of students.” Thanks to Kim, Laura and Addy Perlman who help make this happen.
Coach Peter Allen was also recognized for his dedication and passion in teaching his students here at Valwood. Coach Allen has had an impression on hundreds of students over the years, and he was honored with a plaque outside his classroom. Thanks to Ron and Jennifer Allen for making this possible.
Finally, the James H. “Jimmy” Rainwater lobby in the Eager Sports Center was dedicated in memory of Mr. Rainwater. Donated by the Miller Family Fund, Mr. Rainwater was honored for “his tireless energy and dedication to the city of Valdosta.”
