JM McRae hit a grand slam to cap the Valwood baseball team’s 18-2 blowout win against the Echols County Wildcats on Tuesday night.
McRae’s homer to left field plated Dane Fafard, Jaharie Boone and Caleb Burns. McRae finished with three hits, six RBIs and scored two runs.
Tayte Barry hit a two-run homer to left in the opening inning, capping the Valiants’ 12-inning frame. He had two RBIs and scored two runs.
Sam Martin offered two hits and scored two runs.
Mac McRae allowed three runs and two hits in 3 innings.
Hunter Morey had two of the Wildcats’ three hits.
Colt Cox took the loss for Echols in 1/3 innings. He surrendered one hit and six earned runs.
Valwood hosts Brooks County at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
