Tayte Barry’s five-RBI performance helped the Valwood baseball team erupt to a 16-5 blowout win against the Brookwood Warriors on Friday night.
The Valiants tallied 14 hits to Brookwood’s three.
Brookwood tied the game at 2 before the Valiants pulled away in the second inning. They scored on three singles, an error, a hit by pitch and a fielder’s choice to take a comfortable 10-2 advantage.
Barry had three hits and scored two runs and JM McRae finished with three hits, two RBIs and scored three runs for the Valiants. Jaharie Boone hit a home run, finished with two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs. Caleb Burns had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs.
Dane Fafard surrendered three hits and five runs in 5 innings for Valwood.
Josh McCaskill had two hits and two RBIs for the Warriors. Pitcher Tyler Mirick gave up seven hits and seven runs in one inning.
